KEC Intnl wins two orders worth 2.17 bln rupees

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) – RPG Group unit KEC International Ltd. said it has won two new orders worth 2.17 billion rupees from National Thermal Power Corp. (NTPC) and Power Grid Corp of India.

The power transmission company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange that with these two wins its order book now stands at about 47.50 billion rupees.

The company said it has won a rural electrification project from NTPC which is worth 1.20 billion rupees. The project is located in the eastern Indian state of Orissa and scheduled for completion by March 2010.

The second order is a 765 Kv turnkey project from Power Grid which is worth 970 million rupees. The project is located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and scheduled for completion by June 2010.
